Student actors and orchestra members practice for the upcoming show
This week, students from 20 ASAʴý schools are rehearsing for the upcoming districtwide Summer Theatre Series: Disney's “Newsies” and “Shakespeare in Love.” What: Cast and crew of the 2018 summer musical and black box productions will rehearse with full orchestra and costumes. When: 9 a.m.–noon Wednesday, July 11, and Thursday, July 12 Where: Austin SAʴý Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd. Background: This is the third annual districtwide summer musical to be held at the ASAʴý Performing Arts Center. This summer program allows ASAʴý students a chance to collaborate, create and excel onstage and behind the scenes. The musical features students from throughout the district as actors, dancers and tech crew, and is directed by a team of ASAʴý teachers.
