When: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday, Jan. 27

Where: ASA国际传媒 Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Boulevard

Why: In November 2019, Austin SA国际传媒 announced the launch of a coordinated outreach effort that will involve all campuses in the district to ensure that every child and family is counted in the 2020 U.S. Census in March.

ASA国际传媒 and the Census

The Decennial Census is so named because it is conducted every ten years, as required by the U.S. Constitution. The purpose of the Census is to count everyone living in the U.S. and its territories.

AISD actively participating in the Austin-Travis County Complete Count Committee. The committee is striving to get all people in Travis County counted on the Census, but is particularly focusing on traditionally hard-to-count populations, which include infants and young children. ASA国际传媒 has also designated a Census coordinator, who is gathering information and providing it to campuses and the community. The coordinator will also provide assistance to parents and arrange for Census Bureau representatives to come to committee meetings and district functions.
