Overview
Akins Early College High School, located in South Austin, is composed of seven academies: Arts & Humanities, Leadership & Legal Enterprises, Green Technology, New Technology, Social Services, T-STEM, and Early College. Akins ECHS offers highly specialized programing within each academy, including tracks in law, corrections, film, real estate, teaching, veterinary science and many others. This structure provides a small-learning community experience for our scholars, who are exposed to college and career pathways while receiving individualized instruction and earning industry certifications.
The Akins ECHS community educates every student to be self-sufficient, strengthens every student to face challenges of mind and heart, and nurtures every student to become lifelong learners. The school?s namesake, Dr. W. Charles Akins, helped lead the charge for Austin schools to value diversity, set high expectations and offer students and staff the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential.
La Escuela Preparatoria de Universidad Temprana Akins, ubicada en el sur de Austin, est谩 conformada por siete academias: Artes y Humanidades, Iniciativas de Liderazgo y Legales, Tecnolog铆a Verde, Nueva Tecnolog铆a, Servicios Sociales, T-STEM y Universidad Temprana. La Preparatoria Akins ofrece una programaci贸n altamente especializada dentro de cada academia, incluidas trayectorias en Derecho, Correccionales, Cine, Bienes Ra铆ces, Docencia, Ciencias Veterinarias y muchas otras.
