Overview

Dobie Middle School and College Prep Academy offers scholars the opportunity to develop their talents, strengthen their skills and prepare for college, career and life. Dobie is proud to provide robust fine arts programs, including art, band, choir, guitar and theater classes. Students can take Advanced Placement Spanish classes beginning in 6th grade, giving them the opportunity to finish middle school with high school credits. Dobie also offers technology and career classes, including web design and culinary arts.

 Dobie is part of the Northeast family of schools. As an early college high school, Northeast offers students the chance to earn college credit and graduate with a diploma and an associate degree. Dobie is part of Community in Schools, providing dropout prevention services and connecting students to a network of volunteers and community resources.

La Escuela Secundaria y Academia de Preparaci贸n para la Universidad Dobie ofrece a los alumnos la oportunidad de desarrollar sus talentos, fortalecer sus destrezas y prepararse para la universidad, la carrera profesional y la vida. Austin ISD proposing a district-managed restart with an 1882 contingency for Dobie Middle School. This option preserves local control and makes intensive school redesign investments while leaving room for a state-approved 1882 partnership if significant progress is not made. If this choice is approved, students will continue going to their neighborhood school, but with required changes in some staffing and teaching.
